HRH The Prince of Wales visits the Centre

HRH The Prince of Wales

HRH The Prince of Wales: "I am hugely grateful to so many international friends, backers and well-wishers of the Centre for giving their time and resources to establish such an important institution in this city... There is no doubt in my mind its importance transcends national borders."

HRH The Prince of Wales was the guest of honour at a dinner to celebrate his 60th Birthday and his work as the Patron of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. HRH spoke about inter-civilizational understanding, the importance of greater participation by young British Muslims in public life, and the need to promote good environmental practices in Muslim countries. The dinner, which was held at Magdalen College, Oxford, was attended by distinguished international figures, heads of Oxford colleges, members of parliament and the representatives of local and national civil society organizations.
