Applications for the 2018-19 Visiting Fellowships are now OPEN.
These are offered to support research in any area of the
arts, humanities, or the social sciences that has relevance
to the study of Islam or the Muslim world (particularly anthropology,
economics, geography, history, international relations, law,
literature, philosophy, politics, religion, and sociology).
Applicants will normally be mid career or senior academics. An academic affiliation is not a necessary requirement.
Each Fellowship carries a grant of £5,000 and membership of the Common Room. The grant is intended as a supplementary award and may be held in conjunction with other research grants, stipends, or sabbatical salaries. Fellowships are tenable from 1 October for an academic year, though shorter periods will be considered.
Applications should include a curriculum vitae and one-page statement of proposed research. Two letters of recommendation should be sent directly to the Centre.
