Pippa Virdee an Associate Professor at De Montfort University (Leicester), UK, where she teaches Modern South Asian History. Her research interests include, British colonial history, history of the Punjab, women’s history in Pakistan, and the South Asian diaspora in Britain. Her publications include From the Ashes of 1947: Reimaging Punjab (CUP, 2018), Refugees and the End of Empire (co-edited, Palgrave Macmillan, 2011) and Coming to Coventry: Stories from the South Asian Pioneers (Herbert, 2006). Her forthcoming book is Pakistan. A Short Very Introduction (OUP, 2021).
