An exhibition gallery is at the heart of the Centre’s new building. With its state-of-the art humidity controlled air conditioning, high-tech security and fire suppression systems, it will be able to host travelling exhibitions illuminating aspects of Islamic civilisation to academics, students, schools and the general public. The gallery (see artist's impression, right) has a floor area of 165 sq. m. It is also designed to function as the central element in an extended exhibition space with a floor area up to 500 sq. m.
Past exhibitions supported by the Centre have included the Al-Mizan exhibition hosted with the Museum of the History of Science (Click for details.) In 2018 the Centre hosted the exhibition Journey of a Lifetime – a photographic record of the visit of HRH Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone, to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1938.
