A graduate of the Institut d'Études Politiques d'Aix-en-Provence (2005-2010), Jonathan Guiffard is a french researcher in international relations and strategic issues. Since September 2022, he is a Senior Fellow at Institut Montaigne, focusing on African and strategic affairs. Jonathan worked for 12 years in the french government and has developed an in-depth knowledge of diplomatic issues and asymmetric armed conflicts. He is particularly specialized in the Sahel and West Africa, areas to which he has traveled on numerous occasions. He is currently researching the nexus between the worsening security situation in Sahel, the competition between West African countries and the role of their international partners. Since September 2022, Jonathan has also begun academic work at the French Institute of Geopolitics (University of Paris 8) in the Cyber domain. Jonathan lives in London.
