Jeremy Johns retired in 2023 as Professor of the Art and Archaeology of the Islamic Mediterranean and as Director of the Khalili Research Centre at the University of Oxford. He continues to work on the art, archaeology and history of Sicily from the 9th to 13th centuries and is currently Principal Investigator of an ERC-funded research project on Documenting Multiculturalism: Co-existence, law and multiculturalism in the administrative and legal documents of Norman and Hohenstaufen Sicily, c.1060-c.1266.
